ACT Holden Day 2007

Sunday 9 September 2007 saw the largest gathering of Australia's own car in the Nations Capital. A Show'n'Shine was held between 10am & 3pm on the lawns of Old Parliament House near the shores of beautiful Lake Burley Griffin. Spectator admission was free and a record 220+ Holdens were on display. Spectators saw the very early models to the latest Commodores, original classics to street machines and the latest performance vehicles. There were also trade stalls and catering provided by the Canberra Belconnen Lions Club. Holden enthusiasts brought their whole family along to enjoy a great day out, plus there are also plenty of other local attractions within easy walking distance of the event.

The FE-HR Holden Owners Club ACT invited all Holden enthusiasts and Holden Car Club members from all over Australia to participate in the ACT Holden Day for the largest celebration of Holdens that Canberra has seen. Entrants that booked with Rydges went into the draw to win their weekend stay for free. All Holden models were welcome. The Show'n'Shine featured all the early Holdens, Monaros and Toranas as well as Geminis and Commodores. Professional judges awarded trophies in all categories.

Entrants did not need a classic or street machine to participate. We wanted all Holdens including originals, daily-drivers, partially restored, show cars, street machines or high-performance. Holdens could be entered as "judged" or as "display only". All entrants received an ACT Holden Day shirt and an event memento. A commemorative DVD was also produced. Sunday 9 September was also an opportunity to pay tribute to the legendary Peter Brock by wearing Team Brock, HDT or HRT gear with pride.
